I wish I could have told you things to make you understand me a bit better. I wish I could have had a heart to heart before you left. I even blame myself to this day because no matter how many times I said "I love you." No matter how many tears I shed, laughs and smiles I gave you,It wasnt enough to make you stay. Even though I took you for granted I always cared Daddy I swear I did. I mourn even more as the days pass and my memory of you slowly starts to fade away. In my heart though I remember what you always said to me. "Tyler, you are African American,beautiful, and smart." It was'nt till now that I understood the meaning of those words the way you wanted me too. African American, Daughter of a people who went through hardships but strived to get to where they are today. Beautiful, for on the inside it means alot more. And Smart, meaning if I put my mind to it I can accomplish any task. Thank you daddy for you never really left me because your spirit lives on in me as well as the people whose lives you've changed. And until that sweet day we meet again. I will make you proud of the girl you raised, the teen you watched grow into the woman that you see before you now.
